gavinhardkiss.com wrote an interesting post today on Fung. Here’s a quick excerpt “A weird coincidence of sounds that worked together in a bizarre way with an intro sample from one of my favorite movie of all time, Beyond The Valley of the Dolls, and a memorable Juno 106 progression.”

Thank you! This is definitely my favorite from the selections release and a perfect bridge for when the going gets strange.

Nothing beats a Rolls; not even a Bentley. Bentley! Bentley! Bentley!
One of the best movie soundtracks too.

i think robbie did in fact add some live synths to the mix for this song. during this period, we used to treat each song with live overdubs of synths (usually prophet 600) or echo fx. when the arrangement was complete and the mix was almost finished, we’d record multiple passes onto adat and then mix it one more time.

never got a hold of the full album namaquadisco and always clung to a single 12″ with 4 versions of “stationary tornado”. super stoked to hear other tracks!
