Architecture students and their pioneering professor, Pol Taylor, cleaned and adorned the abandoned ruins of a whaling station to create the most amazing temporary environment for a music festival. Huge sails were hung as shade structures and illuminated guard rails were set up near the cliff side. The feeling was like you were in the belly of whale listening to the sounds of your own organs and the world outside on a huge Meyer Sounsystem.
Ever spend the night in the belly of a whale? I did.
The music line up included Ricardo Villalobos, R&S artist Sun Electric, Dandy Jack and Uwe Shmidt aka Atom Heart aka Senor Coconut who played a cumbia set at sunrise with his live band. I DJed is the middle and I wish I had this track to play at the time.
You had to see it to believe it!!
